We are pleased to announce the 2017 provisional race calendar, after a very successful 2016 we feel that this is one of the most attractive set of dates we have ever produced. We have added two prestigious venues Anglesey and Rockingham to the calendar, both have been visited by Nora in the past but Anglesey has been completely revamped into a wonderful venue and at Rockingham we will use the full infield National circuit with the addition of a purpose built off road section, this shows the commitment to and the belief in our sport at all levels.
We have also managed to get an old favourite back, Blyton Park, another venue that has undergone massive transformation over the last two years. Our only disappointment has been our inability to secure a good Southern venue, our efforts to organise a meeting at Bordon eventually proving fruitless as the Army are under severe pressure to reduce noise at weekends. We are continuing to explore new venues and there are still a couple of options possibly available that may be used as track days or non-championship races prior to being included in the full 2018 series.
Our second round of the year at Rowrah will be run in conjunction with Karl Farley’s long established festival and we are hoping to
help create a real party atmosphere over 4 days – in fact a mini Mettet in the Mountains, more details will follow in due course. At the same time as the solos are racing at Rowrah the Superlites will be on track at Pembrey for their second round.
We are also greatly indebted to our series co-sponsors Wanttoliveafloat.com
and Michelin, without whom we wouldn’t be able to put on such an ambitious programme. Both companies are really behind our sport and have pledged their support again for 2017. If everyone continues to remain enthusiastic, work professionally and promote the sport at every opportunity we feel we can take Supermoto and Superlite Racing on to another level.
For 2017 we are very near to agreeing a professional motorsport internet TV channel deal and would welcome any interested parties who want to become involved with the promotional benefits this could provide.
Full details of all the classes, championships, entry fees etc. will be released over the next few weeks on www.norasport.co.uk and our Facebook Pages. But for now, get the dates in your diaries!!
